* The Shack , William Young
"When the imagination of a writer and the passion of a theologian cross-fertilize the result is a novel on the order of The Shack. This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" did for his. It's that good!" Ok, that's what the book review said, and I don't have the verbal eloquence to match that, but if I were to describe this book in one word I would use the word "freedom". This book helped break down the structures and paradigms that I didn't even realize I had so entrenched in my life. For me this book was huge, and it's changed the way I think on several levels!

* Any time I can add nature to my quiet time it adds a whole new level to my time with the Lord. And just for the record, the beach is the best!
Hearing is Everything
What can I say, I've been reading the Bible through since I was...well for several years now. It was high time for something new, something fresh-but I couldn't simply not read the Bible. Or could I? After toying with a few different ideas I ended up purchasing The Bible Experience. So now instead of reading the Word, I'm listening to the Word. As I'm cleaning my house, or getting ready in the morning, or even sometimes when I'm just being still, I listen to the Bible on my ipod. It's amazing how the Scripture comes to life, and verses have popped out that I've never really noticed before. For me, this was the fresh change I needed.
Read Through the Bible
I signed up at this website to read the Bible through in a year. It sends you daily emails with your Bible readings so you can't forget. It's been a great daily reminder to get in the word! http://www.bibleinayear.org/index.asp
